Speech,Language & Feeding Therapy

Welcome!

At Babble and Beyond we understand the importance of communication and its significant impact on a child and their family. We also understand the value in meeting your child where they are and establishing a trusting relationship and safe space to build new skills. We are committed to helping children grow by celebrating their unique personalities and strengths.

We take a collaborative approach to therapy sessions, by inviting parents and caregivers to actively join us in the process and learn how to best support their child’s development. All therapy sessions will be a combination of direct therapy and parent education, where we will work together to create meaningful opportunities to support your child’s speech, language, feeding, and social development.

“Our family met Lauren Gillette through Early Intervention when she was assigned to our son as his speech therapist when he was around 1 year old. Our son (Super Cooper) is now 11 and is mostly nonverbal, so we’ve had exposure to our share of really good speech therapists (EI, private, school) in addition to lots of other wonderful specialists focusing on, for example OT, PT. Lauren is, hands down, the most amazing therapist we’ve ever interacted with – not just speech therapist but therapist. She is bright, creative, energetic, loving, and collaborative – not only with us but also with the settings that Cooper was interacting with at the time (daycare and subsequently school). Working with children is so intuitive to her and it’s only years later that I can fully see how creative and effective her approaches were as she tried to elicit interest in our son to speak. She introduced so many concepts and techniques (e.g., Velcro tabs with pictures, video clips, speech apps), and constantly cycled through fresh ideas to keep our sons attention and engagement. I recently saw our son (7 years later) go to a video on his iPad that Lauren had recorded of my daughter so that he could see her lips and mimic her. We unfortunately don’t live near Babble and Beyond but if we did I can promise you we would be customers!! Lauren, and the setting she is creating through Babble and Beyond, is a true gem and will be a blessing for any child lucky enough to receive services there.”

“We worked with Lauren with speech therapy. My daughter was extremely shy and had a very hard time warming up to people. Lauren was patient and took the time to gain her trust before making her work too hard! She was fabulous at working within the kids comfort level, while pushing them a bit. She was so great with my daughter, when my son needed services she was the first person we requested, and waited for. She made the need for speech therapy less scary and overwhelming. She really explained things well so I would understand and constantly reassured me that there was nothing wrong with my kiddos. Her mannerism is very gentle and sweet. I think this is why my shy kids warmed up to her so well. I have sent people her way in the past and I would continue to do so now. She is an absolute pleasure to work with!”
